Lindiwe Mutungamiri is a Zimbabwean-born Computer Scientist, Entrepreneur, Mastercard Foundation Scholar, and global health innovator shaping the future of ethical technology and inclusive healthcare systems. She holds an M.S. in Computer Science from Arizona State University and a B.S. in Computer Science from Ashesi University in Ghana. 

As Founder and CEO of eighty-nine, a healthcare technology startup, Lindiwe is building data-driven, affordable tools to improve health outcomes in Africa. Under her leadership, the company has secured seed funding, established cross-continental teams, and engaged stakeholders from investors to policymakers. Her work lies at the intersection of artificial intelligence, governance, and health equity. She advances conversations on how AI can be harnessed responsibly to strengthen health systems, particularly in contexts where infrastructure is limited but innovation potential is vast. 

Her work has been supported by the U.S. National Science Foundation I-CORPS, the Tony Blair Institute, the Anzisha Prize, the Melton Foundation, and the Mastercard Foundation, among others. Lindiwe’s leadership reflects resilience and global perspective. Raised in Zimbabwe and educated in Ghana and the U.S., she has paired academic excellence with entrepreneurial drive from founding her first company as a freshman at Ashesi, to serving as Class Speaker for the Mastercard Foundation Scholars Program at ASU, receiving the Inspiring Global Citizen Award and Rising Star Award, and being inducted into the ASU International Students Hall of Fame. A frequent contributor to international forums and media, Lindiwe is emerging as a next-generation voice on AI governance, ethical innovation, youth empowerment, and women’s leadership.
