About Action Pathways
The Global Africa Business Initiative (GABI) Action Pathways are practical, year-round multi‑stakeholder platforms designed to move priority issues from high‑level dialogue to action, bringing together business leaders, policymakers, investors, development institutions and other partners to co‑create solutions, align around key barriers and advance concrete initiatives in areas critical to Africa’s growth.
At Unstoppable Africa 2025 — GABI’s flagship annual global convening platform during the UN General Assembly High-Level Week — the inaugural Action Pathways for Digital Transformation and Health were launched. The Health and Digital Transformation Action Pathways are central to GABI’s ambition to move from convening to implementation and investment mobilization.
Subsequently, the Action Pathways reconvened in May 2026 to agree on the structure and priority focus areas for the coalition’s 2026 direction, and confirmed that work would begin in the second half of 2026 with the selection of their first problem statement and a 12‑month work plan.
The Action Pathways serve as collaborative impact vehicles to:
Identify systemic barriers limiting scalable impact across priority sectors;
Develop actionable, market-driven solutions;
Mobilize financing and partnerships;
Align public and private sector leadership;
Showcase investable opportunities across the continent; and
Advance Africa-led approaches to inclusive growth and sustainable development.
The coalition focuses on co‐creating actionable instruments that each address a single, urgent, shared digital transformation challenge in Africa, and are completed within an agreed timeframe.
