International Correspondent at CNN and host of the African Voices

 

Larry Madowo is an International Correspondent at CNN and host of the African Voices series. He is also a fill-in anchor who has presented CNN International programs from Atlanta and Dubai. He was previously a North America Correspondent for the BBC based in Washington, DC. He also anchored BBC World News America, a flagship global news program that is also syndicated on PBS stations across the US. Madowo was named a Young Global Leader of the World Economic Forum in 2020 and has thrice been selected among the Most Influential Africans by NewAfrican magazine. He was a Knight-Bagehot Fellow at Columbia University where he earned a master’s in Business and Economics Journalism. He previously served as the pioneer BBC Africa Business Editor. He started his television career at KTN Kenya before moving on to NTV Kenya and CNBC Africa.
