Susan Sabet launched PASHION a pioneering, quarterly, bi-lingual Arabic & English, print & online fashion, beauty & luxury magazine in 2003, that enjoys a pan-Arab distribution in 9 countries. The magazine has developed into a monthly digital copy as of December 2022. In May 2016, Susan launched PASHION Vienna, the first and only Arabic fashion & luxury magazine in Austria, that was put on hold with the pandemic start.
For eight years in a row PASHION was the only Arab magazine, appointed as media partner at the annual NYTimes Luxury Conference. Other regular annual media partnerships include the bi-annual FFWD Dubai event and The Bahrain Jewellery Fair and the Dubai Int.Property Show. Under the magazine’s umbrella, Susan first created Luxury for a Cause in 2008 and Cairo Fashion Nights in 2011 that annually promotes Egyptian designers locally. She further organizes events internationally to promote emerging Egyptian designers.
Susan was appointed a judge for the Swiss Textile Award in 2008.
Since 2014 she is listed as one of the top 500 most influential people in the fashion industry by The Business Of Fashion.
In 2017 she was chosen as a member of the British Fashion Council's The Fashion Awards voting panel.
She was appointed project organizer and curator for the Egyptian showcase at the IFS at London Fashion Week, February 2016 and February 2017 and February 2019.
Since 2016 she is also providing consulting service for the fashion and luxury retail industry through her firm Susan Sabet Consulting .
In November 2017 she was one of five founders of the Egyptian Fashion & Design Council – EFDC that is recognized and under the auspices of the Egyptian Ministry of Trade & Industry,The Egyptian Ministry of Investment, The Egyptian Ministry of Tourism and the Egyptian Ministry of Planning.
In May 2018 she was appointed on the advisory board of Fashion Forward Dubai – FFWD.
She was on the advisory board of the first edition of Fashion Trust Arabia, launched in 2019.
In 2019 she was appointed on the board of the Sednaoui & Egyptian Products Co. a subsidiary of the Egyptian Holding Co. For Tourism & Hotels.
In 2022 she initiated and organized the first edition of Egypt Fashion Awards, the yearly platform promoting young and emerging Egyptian designers.
In 2023 she co-steered the organization of the first official Egypt Fashion Week. In the same year she was also voted one of Egypt’s Top 50 Women.
She is a member of the BWE21 – Businesswomen of Egypt Association, The Nefertari International Club in Cairo and is also a member of the fundraising committee of the Chain of Hope organization founded by Sir Dr.Magdi Yacoub..
Her background in children rtw manufacturing and retail, marketing as
account director at the Cairo office at TMI for many years, and a freelance experience as fashion editor at an Egyptian lifestyle magazine, rounds up her experience within the fashion and luxury industry.
Born and raised in Vienna, Susan holds the Austrian and Egyptian nationality, and speaks German, English, Arabic and French.
