Melissa Powell

In her role as Deputy Executive Director, Ms. Powell is responsible for leading the UN Global Compact’s Strategic Communications and Events; Outreach and Engagement, Fundraising, and Marketing. She also leads the Government Relations and Africa teams as well as Strategic Planning, Monitoring and Evaluation and oversees the integrity of the initiative. Before joining the UN Global Compact in 2001, Ms. Powell worked in the Speechwriting Unit of the Executive Office of UN Secretary-General Kofi Annan.
