Luqman Edu has built a distinguished career in technology, real estate, and finance. After gaining extensive experience in the UK with leading firms in the technology, oil & gas, and banking sectors, he returned to Nigeria in 2011. Over the past decade, Luqman has focused on investing, managing, and developing technology-driven solutions for large properties, cities, and government authorities. Currently, as the Co-Founder and CEO of Itana, formerly Talent City, Luqman is at the forefront of establishing Africa’s first Digital Economic Zone. This innovative online jurisdiction is designed to provide the ideal business environment for global startups and technology companies, enabling them to operate seamlessly from Nigeria and expand across Africa.
Prior to his role at Itana, Luqman served as the Chief Visionary Officer and Managing Director of Filmo Real Estate, a leading real estate services and proptech company in Nigeria. Under his leadership, Filmo Real Estate expanded its operations to 13 states with a staff strength exceeding 100. In recognition of his contributions to the sector, he was named one of the 30 most influential figures in Nigeria’s real estate industry by Unite30 in 2018. Luqman holds a Bachelor of Science in Applied Business Management from Imperial College London, a Master’s in Global Management from the London School of Economics, and a Certificate in Finance from The European School of Economics. He further honed his expertise through a post-graduate executive program in applied business analytics at MIT. In addition to his professional achievements, Luqman holds the traditional title of 'Dan Masanin Sarkin Musulmi' (Friend to the King and Leader of the Learned) from the 18th Sultan of Sokoto.
