Kibonen Nfi is an acclaimed Cameroonian fashion entrepreneur whose work redefines African heritage through innovative, sustainable design. She is celebrated for fusing royal West African textiles such as Toghu and Nduop with bold contemporary aesthetics, creating garments that embody cultural pride, global relevance, and ecological responsibility.
Her eponymous brand, KiBONEN, stands at the intersection of fashion and technology, pioneering a made-when-ordered model that reduces waste and promotes conscious consumption. By merging African storytelling with tech-enabled sustainability, Kibonen is building a globally relevant and locally rooted fashion system that supports ethical production and circular design. Through the KiBONEN Sustainable Creative Hub, she champions community-driven manufacturing and biodegradable materials, while cultivating creative talent and economic opportunity in Cameroon and beyond.
Her garments have been worn by global icons including Lupita Nyong’o, Wizkid, Kanayo Awani, and Gayle King. She is also the founder of the Made in Camer Apparel Plant, co-founder of Cameroon Clothing Company, and co-founder of the African Fashion Council.
