Hariana Verás Victória is a pioneering, award-winning Angolan journalist and Producer. She is the first Angolan journalist accredited as a permanent correspondent at key U.S. government institutions, including the White House, Pentagon, US Senate, and State Department, and the first African journalist in the official press pool covering a U.S. President.
Representing the African continent, she advocates for a more accurate portrayal of Africa in global media. Right now, Hariana Verás is the only African journalist accredited as the Permanent Correspondent for the continent of Africa at the White House. Hariana founded the nonprofit organization called Get To Know Africa Corporation, which highlights African culture, leadership, and economic opportunities.
She holds the distinction of having interviewed the most African Heads of State and her work has earned her numerous awards in both Angola and the U.S. She is recognized as a strong advocate for elevating Africa’s presence and respect in international media and decision-making arenas.
