Co-Founder and CEO, Awarri and Reach Industries
Silas Adekunle is a Nigerian-British robotics engineer, inventor, and entrepreneur advancing human potential through intelligent machines. He is the CEO and co-founder of Awarri, the frontier technology company building Nigeria’s first multilingual AI assistant, trained locally with Nigerian talent and languages.
Awarri is developing large-scale AI and visual intelligence systems rooted in African culture while equipping young people, researchers, and startups with tools and curricula to turn robotics and AI into practical solutions for challenges in education and industry. Its mission is capacity building: nurturing creators, strengthening local ecosystems, and ensuring Africa plays a leading role in the global AI economy.
In parallel, Silas is the CEO and co-founder of Reach Industries, where he leads Lumi, a visual AI copilot for Science. Lumi applies computer vision and automation to accelerate and standardize scientific workflows across labs and industrial environments. Previously, Silas co-founded Reach Robotics and created MekaMon, the world’s first intelligent gaming robot that fused lifelike motion with augmented reality. MekaMon pioneered a new category at the intersection of robotics, entertainment, and education, securing an exclusive distribution deal with Apple.
Silas has been recognized internationally, including Forbes 30 Under 30: Technology in both Europe and Africa, the Financial Times Top 100 Minority Ethnic Leaders in Technology, and the Maserati 100. His work reflects a commitment to building frontier technologies that empower communities, preserve culture, and expand Africa’s role in shaping the future.
